Altenew Crafty Friends Blog Hop Day 1 + Giveaway

Hello friends!
We are having a special Altenew Blog Hop celebrating crafty friends today.
I am super excited to share a card with you.
If you arrive from the Butterfly Reflection Blog, you are in the right place!

All the details about this blog hop, please visit Altenew's Card Blog.

We are asked to share some crafting adventures with you.

I started this very blog back in 2009 and prior to that, I was actively learning about stamping on line.
Throughout the years, I had met some amazing crafters and to this day, we are still in touch and become great friends.

Today I am sharing one of the techniques that I learned from the super fabulous Laura Bassen.
When I watched her Partial Die-cutting video a few years ago,  I thought she did a superb job in explaining and entertaining us crafters! We met up in Chicago and had gourmet pizza together
....she is SWEET and FUNNY, just like her videos!

(edited)

Laura and me (Fall, 2013) in Chicago

Here is my take with "Partial Die-cutting".

Altenew-HandpickedBouquetStampDie-Virginia#1

I am using Handpicked Bouquet as my example. You would not believe how perfect this die is for Partial Die-cutting. It is long and covers the entire card front horizontally.

I started with stamping the image with shades of pink and green.

Altenew-HandpickedBouquetStampDie-Virginia#2

I positioned the cutting board at the bottom and left the upper side completely open. I only needed to trim off the sides and small openings with a Craft knife.

Altenew-HandpickedBouquetStampDie-Virginia#3

Once I had the die-cut all done, I popped up the image with foam tape and voila!

Altenew-HandpickedBouquetStampDie-Virginia#4

Card-making not only provides me lots of fun in learning and all sorts of techniques, but it offers me a great opportunity to meet like-minded friends! I happen to travel a lot, I met up with crafty friends from Amsterdam, Chicago, Copenhagen... Liverpool, Minneapolis, Taipei, San Francisco!
