I am featuring this die and hopefully it gives some inspiration on using 5 small dies like this.
I know Valentine's Day is over, but this die can still be used all year round!

First of all, I want to point out that when I get small die sets, I do not like to break the dies apart. I often keep the joint metal in tact and use them as one piece. The reason? I don't lose track of them and you get 5 pieces instantly in one cut.
However, if you do break up all the die pieces, you can still arrange them however you like (when you make the die cut). You just need to watch out for the even spacing.

With that, I took the entire piece and ran it under the die cut machine and did dry-embossing with the Tan Embossing Mat. I rotated the die piece 4 times and made it look like I used a large cover plate....! Get the idea!? 😉

I then took out Altenew Artist Markers and colored only part of the images.
I chose the lightest soft colors since it is now finally Spring (although it doesn't act like one...)
Basically, I used the die to create a colorful background with textures!
The sentiment was white-embossed with a piece of alcohol-inked vellum. I used the die pieces as embellishment.
This really is another great way to stretch your dies! When you think about purchasing a die set, think of this particular technique. Almost all the dies will work well with this technique!
I hope that you like today's feature. Be sure to comment to win some Technique Tuesday goodies (offered by the lovely folks over Technique Tuesday! The winner will be announced on a later Tuesday!)

What a totally fun and playful way to use these dies, Virginia. I'm loving the pretty pastels too.
I like the idea of leaving the attached dies intact... I do that sometimes too. Never thought of using them this way though... love the look! Fun card!
How clever, and such a pretty card too, Jo x
Oh my, your card is wonderful. The colors are excellent- but-the background is superb!!
You've done it again. Captured my heart with your meticulous dry embossing and in such a uniquely beautiful way. Don't know where you come up with your ideas but I'd sure like to borrow your imagination for a day or two.
Fabulous card, love
the way you embossed
and stamped on it.
