I am popping in with a super bright and sunny card because I am IN the mood! 😎
so lucky to have you (2)

The collection from Large Die of the month from Spellbinders is amazing!
I picked out one of the ornate circle die and created this super colorful card.
The first step is to make the die cut.

I then applied Distress Oxide and colored a few small sections at a time.
The color palette is so rich, it seems fitting to add some GOLD to keep it in balance.
I couldn't help myself adding a little bit of dry-embossing details (see the very top).

so lucky to have you-001

My gilded inspiration came from the palaces in Europe and especially Hermitage in St. Petersburg, Russia that my family and I visited in 2012. You can see my travel post here.

As an after-thought, this card is much like South Western theme that I have been seeing in the last few days. Yesterday I just returned from a 5-day family trip  from Phoenix, Arizona. I saw (and touched !EEEK!) cactus, Grand Canyon, native art, Red Rock and... amazing desert scenery that I have never seen before. But then, I digress...

Adding the gold leaf is not hard, but it is a bit messy as they are sooooo very light and a little air will get them blown all over the place. Be sure to use a large box to contain the mess. I applied the glue and then added the gold leaves. All that fuss and muss are worth it!

You are so right, the colors are southwestern; however in you hand the added gold does make a regal card. Love your photo!
