Add a Touch of Color to Your Die

 Hello friends!

I am sharing a fun and easy card with die-cutting. I am using the following die as my example.

Jingle Word Frame Etched Die

This die may be meant for Christmas thanks to the  sentiment die " Jingle All The Way". However, the scalloped circle and intricate lace scroll die can be used all year round.

I think it will look beautiful as white. However, I decided to add some colors to the die.

Jingle -001

There are several ways to ink up the dies: Ink to Paper, Ink-blending, Water-coloring, Copic-coloring ... Embossing and etc.

Jingle -002

I decided to use a fun and quick way: Ink-spraying. I mixed up my two latest Spray Bottles--Distress Spray Pewter and Prize Ribbon

Jingle (Virginia Lu) - Copy

There is no right or wrong with the order of coloring or die-cutting. In this case, I die cut first and added the ink spray afterwards.

It is so cool to see the color-mixing of the ink spray. They really make the die sing! I also added droplets of spray directly onto the card to complete that organic look.

Thanks for stopping by!

No matter how you did it, this time it's a great success. Love how the diecut looks like a beautiful doily. Also, love the colors you chose...that blue and pewter combo is awesome.

The Distress sprays Pewter and Prize Ribbon are such a lovely combination and give the fancy diecuts such an elegant look. The shiny gold sentiment is the “crowning touch”.
